Mission Statement

To be an association of motorcycling enthusiasts coming together for fun and socializing while promoting safe riding to better enjoy the motorcycling experience. To develop new friendships, support our community and have fun while working to support charities and to raise funds for our chosen charity, The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

About Us

The members of Hap's Gulf Coast Riders (HGCR) are motorcycle enthusiasts. All makes of motorcycles are welcome. We are sponsored by the oldest motorcycle dealer in the area, Hap's Cycle Sales, 2530 17th Street, Sarasota, FL, 34234, (941) 365-3443.

Our club takes its name from founder, Albert Clyde "Hap" Poneleit, who passed away August 11, 2010. Please be sure to read about Hap here and by all means take the time to watch the wonderful tribute video of Hap compiled by his friends and the four generations of family that loved him so much. We miss you Hap.

Meetings and Rides

Club meetings are held every 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7PM for a general meeting and optional dinner ride to follow. Members may bring a guest. We ride the 1st Sunday and the 3rd Saturday of every month. All rides leave out of Hap's Cycle Sales parking lot at 2530 17th Street, Sarasota, FL, 34234. (Hap's Cycle Sales has been voted first place in the Reader's Choice Awards for the best place to buy a motorcycle in 2009.) The ride times are Sundays at 9:00AM and Saturdays at 5:30PM, unless otherwise noted.

Annual membership is $15.00 per person ($30.00 per couple) and renewable in January.

Payments for Dues & Poker Runs

All donations given can now be processed through your credit or debit card.
All membership dues, Haps Sponsored Poker Run and/or Jelly Bean Runs Entry Fees, Extra Hands and donations to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation can be purchased through your credit or debit card, and will be processed the day of the Run right at our entry desk or on this website.

All payments are processed through PayPal Here on a secure and encrypted iPhone, Android or ipad.

Rain Date Policy

If it rains on a scheduled club ride, the ride will be cancelled and group members are encouraged to call other members on the roster for alternate dinner plans.
